Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 egg
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced white onion
  • 24 wonton wrappers I used Nasoya, but any will do
  • oil for frying
  • Dipping Sauce:
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • teaspoon sesame oil

Instructions

Directions:

  • In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, egg, garlic powder, minced onion, salt and sugar. Whisk until fluffy.
  • To assemble the cream cheese wontons, place about 1 tablespoon of the mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper. Lightly wet the edges of the wonton with water. Pinch close the four corners to meet together in the center. Seal edges tightly. Repeat with all 24 wontons. (See image above)
  • Add oil to a saucepan about 3 inches high. Heat to medium-high heat, about 350 degrees.
  • Add a few wontons at a time and let cook for about 1 minute or until golden. Remove wontons and place on a rack to cool. Repeat with all 24 wontons!
  • To make the dipping sauce, whisk together all ingredients.
  • Serve your cream cheese wontons with the dipping sauce. Enjoy!!
