Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease a 9"x13" baking dish and add stale bread cubes to the dish.
Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add butter, chopped onions, chopped celery, salt and pepper. Cook until soft, about 5-7 minutes and then add minced garlic and cook until garlic is fragrant. Season with nutmeg, sage, thyme and parsley. Pour mixture over the bread.
In a bowl, whisk the egg and chicken broth. Evenly pour over the bread and stir to fully coat. Cover stuffing with foil for a softer stuffing, or for a crisper stuffing bake uncovered. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Remove stuffing from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
