Classic Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Combine flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
  • In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream together butter and sugar over medium speed with your paddle attachment. Add vanilla and egg and beat until just combined.
  • Add flour mixture and beat over medium speed until combined.
  • Roll tablespoon sized balls of dough and place on a lightly greased or parchment paper lined baking sheet.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until lightly golden on the bottom. When done, a toothpick should run through the cookie clean. Transfer cookies to a cooling rack.
