Easy Crockpot Shredded Chicken

  • 2 lbs Chicken Breasts
  • 1/4 cup Onion very finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves minced
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup water


  • Pour water into the bottom of your slow cooker. Place chicken breasts in the slow cooker and sprinkle with grated onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper.
  • Turn your slow cooker on high heat for 3 1/2 hours or on low heat for 6 hours.
  • When the chicken is fork tender, easily shred chicken with two forks. You can also use a hand mixer and easily shred chicken with beater attachment. Enjoy!


You can substitute the onion in this recipe for onion powder (1 tsp).
You can substitute the garlic in this recipe for garlic powder (1 tsp).
Chicken thighs can be substituted for chicken breasts.
