Best Ever Moist Cornbread

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt


  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and sugar.
  • Add milk, eggs and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix to fully combine.
  • Lightly butter an 8"x8" baking dish. Pour batter into the dish evenly.
  • Transfer dish to the oven and bake for 25 minutes until golden and a knife runs through the bread and comes out clean.
  • Remove bread from oven and allow to cool before serving. Serve with a slice of butter and honey.


*Store leftover cornbread in a sealed container or storage bag on the counter for up to 2-3 days.
