Classic Pizza Sauce

Best ever homemade pizza sauce is robust in flavor and extremely easy to make! Making pizza sauce from scratch is well worth the extra effort.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 15.5 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ onion finely chopped
  • 1 celery stick finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 basil leaves finely chopped or 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon pepper

Instructions
 

  • Place olive oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add onion and celery and cook for about 5 mins or until soft. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients to the pan and cook for another 15 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve on your favorite pizza dough or use as a dipping sauce for breadsticks and more!

Notes

Store leftover pizza sauce in a container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
