In a bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, ginger, and baking soda and set aside.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar and mix until well combined. Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
Sprinkle in flour mixture and mix until well combined. Finally, gently fold in blueberries.
Pour banana bread mixture into a lightly buttered bread pan.
Transfer bread to the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. Check on the banana bread at about 40 minutes and if the bread is getting very dark, cover with a piece of foil.
When done, remove bread from the oven and let cool slightly. Then, remove bread from baking dish and let finish cooling on a rack.
I recommend using frozen blueberries because they will hold their structure better and not sink to bottom of the bread while baking. However, if you only have fresh that's totally fine! The flavor of the bread will be the same :)
