Blueberry Banana Bread

Best ever moist banana bread recipe made with blueberries makes for the perfect breakfast treat. Serve sliced banana bread lightly toasted with a smear of butter for perfection.

  • 3 Bananas very ripe
  • 1/2 cup White Granulated Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Butter melted
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1 cup Blueberries see notes
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, ginger, and baking soda and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar and mix until well combined. Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
  • Sprinkle in flour mixture and mix until well combined. Finally, gently fold in blueberries.
  • Pour banana bread mixture into a lightly buttered bread pan.
  • Transfer bread to the oven and bake for 50-55 minutes. Check on the banana bread at about 40 minutes and if the bread is getting very dark, cover with a piece of foil.
  • When done, remove bread from the oven and let cool slightly. Then, remove bread from baking dish and let finish cooling on a rack.


I recommend using frozen blueberries because they will hold their structure better and not sink to bottom of the bread while baking. However, if you only have fresh that's totally fine! The flavor of the bread will be the same :)
