Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb. pork roast shoulder/butt
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ yellow onion chopped
  • ½ lime juiced - about 1 tbsp
  • ½ orange juiced - about 2 tbsp
  • 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Carnitas Seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix carnitas seasoning and rub all over the pork.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over high heat. Once your skillet is very hot, carefully sear the pork for about 30 seconds on each side until golden brown. Transfer to the slow cooker.
  • Add remaining ingredients to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on the low setting for 8-9 hours or on the high setting for 4-5 hours.
  • Once the pork is done, shred with two forks. Serve on tortillas with your favorite toppings! Enjoy!
