Form four hamburger patties and sprinkle both sides of each patty with salt and pepper.
Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Add the burgers to the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes or until juices start running from the top of the burger. Flip and cook for another 2-4 minutes and add your cheddar cheese. Allow the cheese to melt and remove from the grill.
Butter the buns and place on a hot skillet over high heat butter side down. It should only take about a minute until they become golden.
Slather bbq sauce on the bottom and top buns, top with your cheeseburger patty, then with potato chips. You are ready to eat!
