Roasted Salsa Recipe

Fresh roasted salsa made with jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, garlic and spicy tomato sauce blended into a flavor-packed salsa.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Roma Tomato
  • 1 Jalapeno
  • 1 8 oz. Can El Pato Tomato Sauce see notes
  • 1 tbsp Cilantro
  • ½ Yellow Onion
  • 1 teaspoon White Distilled Vinegar
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • teaspoon Salt
  • teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Place jalapeño and tomato on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes. During the last 5 minutes, carefully add garlic cloves to the baking sheet. When done, remove from oven and allow to cool.
  • Once cooled, add roasted veggies and remaining ingredients to the food processor and blend until smooth.
  • Serve salsa with chips and your favorite main courses.

Notes

El Pato Hot Tomato Sauce - We use one 8 ounce can of El Pato brand hot tomato sauce. You can use any color of can but we prefer the yellow can. You can find this at your local grocery store next to the salsas.
