Teriyaki Sauce

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup water
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • ½ tablespoon fresh ginger minced/grated
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Combine cornstarch and water in a small bowl.
  • In a medium saucepan, add remaining ingredients along with the cornstarch/water mixture.
  • Stirring frequently, bring sauce to a simmer. Cook until sauce thickens and turns dark brown.
  • Once the sauce has thickened up, remove from heat immediately and serve.

Notes

**Store leftover teriyaki sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. To reheat the sauce, place in a saucepan over low heat with a couple tablespoons of water. Cook over low stirring frequently until warm.
