white pizza with bacon spinach mushroom

White pizza with bacon, spinach and mushroom inspired by one of my favorite pizzas joints in Las Vegas. Every time I go to Vegas, I am sure to get a slice! So, being that I can't be in Vegas whenever I'm in the mood for that scrumptious slice of pizza, I thought why not make it myself!

And this is what I came up with. I used my homemade pizza dough recipe but you can use the store bought kind, or your favorite pizza dough recipe. I am really excited to share this recipe with you, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Ingredients you need to make the best White Pizza:

    • 1 - 12" pizza dough
    • ⅓ cup sliced portobello mushrooms
    • ⅓ cup fresh spinach
    • 4 slices bacon, cooked & chopped
    • ½ cup mozzarella, shredded
    • ¼ cup ricotta cheese
    • ½ cup white pizza sauce(recipe below)

    White Pizza Sauce:

    • 2 tablespoon butter
    • 2 tablespoon flour
    • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
    • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

How to make White Pizza with Bacon, Spinach & Mushrooms:

For the sauce: In a small saucepan over medium heat, add 2 tablespoon butter. Once butter is melted, add flour, basil, garlic, salt and pepper. Stirring frequently, slowly add milk. Once sauce thickens, about 3 minutes, remove from heat and set aside.

Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Place pizza stone in the oven for 20-30 minutes to get stone nice and hot. - skip this step if you are using a pizza pan.

On a piece of parchment paper, stretch pizza into about a 12" circle using your hands or a rolling pin. Then gently fold all edges of the pizza over to form crust. About a ½" all the way around the edges.

Evenly spread white pizza sauce over pizza. Then, evenly sprinkle spinach, mushrooms and bacon on top of the sauce. Next drop tablespoons of ricotta cheese evenly on top of the pizza. Finally, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Carefully transfer pizza with parchment paper to the hot stone or baking sheet.

Bake in the oven at 475 degrees for 10 minutes. Bottom will be golden and top will be lightly bubbly.

Carefully remove pizza from the oven and let cool. Slice and serve immediately!

Looks like there's something red on your white pizza. Is that red pizza sauce or tomatoes?
