Chocolate Chip Banana Bread - Moist and delicious banana bread made with lots of chocolate chips! Serve lightly toasted slices of bread with a smear of butter and a hot cup of coffee for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

This recipe makes one 9" x 5" loaf.
Ingredients you need to make the best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread:
Bananas – You’ll need 2-3 very ripe bananas! The riper the better.
White Granulated Sugar – White granulated sugar or cane sugar both work in this recipe.
Brown Sugar – Dark or light brown sugar both work great in this recipe.
All-Purpose Flour – I used unbleached white all-purpose flour. It is an extremely versatile flour perfect for baking bread. You can also use bleached white flour or bread flour.
Baking Soda – To assist in the rising process.
Egg – Helps to hold everything together and to increase richness of the bread.
Butter – Salted or usalted butter both work great.
Ground Cinnamon – Adds a nice warm spice to the bread!
Vanilla Extract – Pure vanilla extract is best.
Chocolate Chips - I used mini semi-sweet chocolate chips in this recipe. You can use regular sized chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chips as well.
TOOLS TO HAVE ON HAND:
- Bread Loaf Pan – A standard sized bread pan.
- Mixing Bowl – You’ll need two mixing bowls to make the batter.
- Large Mixing Spoon – For mixing the banana bread batter.
- Measuring Spoons and Cups – To properly measure all of your ingredients!
HOW TO MAKE Chocolate Chip Banana Bread:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, and baking soda and set aside.
In a large bowl, mash the bananas. Add melted butter, brown sugar and white sugar and mix until well combined. Mix in egg and vanilla extract.
Sprinkle in flour mixture and mix until well combined. Mix in half the chocolate chips.
Pour banana bread mixture into a lightly buttered bread pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
Transfer bread to the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. Check on the banana bread at about 40 minutes and if the bread is getting very dark, cover with a piece of foil.
When done, remove bread from the oven and let cool slightly. Then, remove bread from baking dish and let finish cooling on a rack.
