Orange Teriyaki Salmon - Delicious easy baked salmon in a mouthwatering orange teriyaki glaze finished with fresh chopped green onion and sesame seeds.

    Teriyaki Salmon

Orange Teriyaki Glazed Salmon baked in the oven and finished in the broiler for a nice golden crust. This is such a delicious and easy way to make salmon. It is definitely one of my favorite salmon recipes.

Oven Orange Teriyaki Salmon was a big hit in my house! We served ours over a bed of steamed white rice with fresh chopped green onions, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes. It was absolutely delicious!

This recipe serves 4 people, so if you are cooking for a crowd simply double the recipe. Also, if you are cooking for a smaller crowd, you can cut the recipe in half.

Tools to have on hand to make baked salmon:

    • Small Saucepan - To cook the orange teriyaki sauce.
    • Baking Sheet - To bake the salmon.
    • Foil - To prevent making a big mess while baking salmon.
    • Basting Brush - Basting salmon with orange teriyaki sauce.
    • Small Bowl - For mixing cornstarch + water.
    • Measuring Spoons + Cups - For measuring all of your ingredients.
    • Mixing Spoon - Mixing the sauce.
    Orange Salmon

Ingredients you need to make baked Orange Teriyaki Salmon:

    • Salmon - I used four 6 oz. pre-cut salmon filets. You can also pick up a large piece of salmon and cut into fours.
    • Orange Juice - You'll need about one large orange for the juice and zest.
    • Orange Zest - Zest from the orange you juiced.
    • Soy Sauce - I always use low sodium soy sauce but you can also use regular soy sauce.
    • Brown Sugar - Dark or light brown sugar both work great.
    • Ginger - Fresh ginger works best in this recipe! If you don't have fresh, use ½ teaspoon ground.
    • Garlic - Fresh garlic is always best! If you don't have fresh, use 1 teaspoon ground.
    • Cornstarch - To thicken the sauce.
    • Water
    • Sesame Oil
    • Sesame Seed - topping
    • Red Pepper Flakes - topping
    • Green Onion - topping
    Teriyaki Salmon Recipe

Here's how to make my delicious baked Orange Teriyaki Salmon:

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water. Add all sauce ingredients to a small saucepan including cornstarch mixture. Bring sauce to a low simmer and cook for about 3-5 minutes. When sauce lightly thickens, remove from heat and transfer to a bowl to cool.

While your sauce is cooling, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Line a baking sheet with a lightly oiled sheet of foil. Place salmon filets on the sheet and baste generously with sauce, reserving about half of the sauce for later use.

Place salmon in the oven and bake for 14 minutes. When salmon is nice and flakey, it's ready.

Remove salmon from the oven and baste with sauce again. Place salmon under the broiler for about a minute or until you get a golden lightly charred top.

Serve salmon over a bed of steamed rice with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, chopped green onion and sesame seeds. Enjoy!

*Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Hubby and I loved it. In future I would lessen the soy sauce just a bit as you could taste the saltiness vs the sweetness of the orange. Definitely a keeper recipe tho 😋

Pleasant flavor; not overpowering teriyaki and subtle orange flavor. The time listed yielded perfect flaky salmon.

I really suggest getting 2 oranges if you want 2/3 c of juice.

Very quick and very tasty. I made double sauce and we enjoyed that on our rice. Will repeat often.

I have a young East Indian lad living with me (stayed free through university - helps me all around). We hae become great friends, for 7 years now. Sorry, about the intro. He is mostly vegetarian, but will reluctantly eat chicken (body builder protein). I don't want to cook 2 meals so find it difficult to fit a steak in for me! I work hard on trying to cook chicken in enough ways not to get totally sick of it, but salmon etc is easier. I cook salmon a lot, but not normally leaning to the Asian style, being Diabetic 2. I will make this, just swap in Swerve Brown - S/B okay for me, but increase the amount of sauce as that rice looks pretty bare! HaHa!

      Excellent!
I changed the recipe to 2 servings. But I did not like the way the measurements turned out. How do you measure 0.17 cup of Soy Sauce or 0.13 cups Brown sugar? It should be in teaspoons or tbps.

Shir Fox, there are 16 Tbsp in one cup. To change .17 cup to tablespoons you would multiple 16 x .17. That comes to 2.72 tablespoons, which you can round off to 2 3/4 tablespoons.]

I made this when my daughter and her gang were coming for supper and everyone LOVED it--son-in-law and all 5 kids. They are not terribly picky eaters, but still something other then spaghetti and meatballs that pleases everyone over a range of ages is definitely a keeper. They all asked me to make it again soon. My compliments!

I made this tonight with only 2 filets and served over brown rice. I used powdered ginger, Tropicana OJ and chopped garlic from a jar and olive oil. Came out really great with lots of orange flavor. Sauce was absolutely delicious. Will make this one again. Thank you!
