Perfectly Crispy French Fries - These french fries are doubled fried in batches giving them a crisp outside and a soft center making them the perfect fry.

How do I cut the potatoes into french fries?

We will start by peeling the russet potatoes. Then, cutting the potatoes in half. Working with each half, cut your potatoes into long strips. Repeat, until you've cut both your russet potatoes. This recipe calls for 4 large russet potatoes which will serve about 4 people. If you want more, just double the recipe.

    What makes french fries crispy?

Toss the potatoes in a large bowl of water and soak for at least 30 minutes. This will remove starch from the potatoes giving you a crisp, delicious fry. The next tip for crispy fries is to double fry them! It's a must!

What oil should I use for frying french fries?

Use canola, vegetable or peanut oil. Do not use extra virgin olive oil, it is too heavy and does not heat to required temperatures needed to make these fries.

How do I make the fries?

Once the fries are done soaking in water, pat them dry with a paper towel. Next, pour canola oil in a deep saucepan or if you have a fryer that works too. Heat the oil to medium-high heat, about 375 degrees. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the potatoes into the oil. Fry for about 4 minutes and then transfer the fires to a plate. Finish frying the rest of your potatoes, then repeat the same thing to double fry your french fries. This double frying method gives you a soft centered fry with a crunchy outside! They always turn out perfect! Sprinkle fries with salt to taste and you are ready to serve.
