Ingredients You Need To Make Mushroom Spaghetti Sauce:
Mini Portobello Mushrooms - Eight ounces of mini portobello or white mushrooms. You can also use large portobello mushrooms if you prefer.
Yellow Onion - Half of a yellow, white, sweet or red onion.
Butter - Salted or unsalted butter. We use this in combination with olive oil to sauté the mushrooms and onions.
Olive Oil - Quality olive oil or avocado oil are my favorite oils to cook with. I prefer using olive oil when cooking Italian.
Balsamic Vinegar - We use balsamic vinegar to add a nice depth of flavor to the sauce. If you don't have balsamic vinegar, you can use red wine or red wine vinegar. Note: This will change the flavor slightly.
Garlic - I highly recommend using fresh garlic.
Ground Beef or Turkey - You can use ground beef, turkey or sausage in this sauce recipe.
Diced Tomatoes - One 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes. You can also use fresh chopped tomatoes. If using fresh, use about two cups.
Tomato Sauce - One 15 ounce can of tomato sauce.
Parmesan Cheese - A nice quality parmesan cheese grated straight off the block is my preference.
Seasonings - Salt, Dried Oregano, Dried Basil, Dried Parsley. You can use fresh herbs if you prefer. If using fresh, adjust amounts to your taste preference.
