    JUMP TO RECIPE

Buttery Garlic Breadsticks - These breadsticks are soft, chewy, mouthwatering good! The dough is made from scratch then lathered in fresh garlic butter and baked to golden perfection.

    Tools to have on hand:

    • Stand Mixer
    • Parchment Paper
    • Measuring Spoons and Cups
    • Pizza Stone or Baking Sheet
    • Kitchen towel or Plastic wrap
    • Large Bowl

My Buttery Garlic Breadsticks are so soft and fluffy and slightly chewy. They have the most amazing flavor and texture. I cannot wait for you to try them!

Pair breadsticks with your favorite pasta's, soups and salad recipes. I served mine with my homemade Classic Sausage Lasagna and it was so delicious! Dipping breadsticks in soup is also one of my absolute favorite things! I will link some of my favorite recipes to pair with this recipe for you below.

This recipe makes about 8 breadsticks. So, if you are cooking for a crowd simply double the recipe.

Ingredients you need for this recipe:

    • all-purpose flour
    • active dry yeast
    • baking powder
    • salt
    • sugar
    • olive oil
    • warm water
    • garlic
    • butter
    • basil (optional)

How to make Buttery Garlic Breadsticks:

In the bowl of your stand mixer with the dough hook attachment, add warm water, yeast, sugar and stir. For yeast activation, let sit for about 10 minutes until foamy.

Add flour, baking powder, salt and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Turn mixer on medium speed and knead for about 5-7 minutes until ball of dough forms around the hook.

Transfer dough to a lightly greased bowl and cover for about 1.5 hours or until dough doubles in size.

Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and form into a rectangle. Cut dough long, skinny logs about 1 inch thick and 5 inches long. (see photo above for reference). Cover with towel and let rise another 30 minutes.

While dough rises, preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Mix minced garlic in with your melted butter.

Transfer breadsticks to a parchment lined baking sheet and baste with the garlic butter.

Place breadsticks in the oven and bake for about 13-15 minutes until lightly golden.

Remove from oven and sprinkle with fresh chopped basil. ENJOY!

Here are some delicious pasta dishes to pair with your breadsticks:

    • Creamy Tomato Cajun Chicken Pasta – Cajun chicken and farfalle pasta tossed in deliciously creamy tomato sauce sprinkled with fresh chopped parsley and green onions.
    • Baked Ziti Recipe –  Loaded with ground beef, spinach, onions, tomatoes and is all baked to a golden perfection with mozzarella and parmesan cheese.

    • Crockpot Italian Meatballs – My crockpot meatballs are not only super easy and packed with flavor, but they are so tender and delicious and melt in your mouth with every single bite.
    • Classic Sausage Lasagna – Super delicious and simple lasagna recipe made with sausage, homemade robust tomato sauce, mozzarella and ricotta cheese. This is the perfect family and kid friendly comfort meal.

If you enjoyed this recipe, here are a few more recipes I think you'll love:

    • Squaw Bread – Sweet, hearty, and soft squaw bread is my ultimate weak spot. This bread serves as the ultimate sandwich bread or can also serve with warm butter for a delicious appetizer.
