Baked Cheesy Gnocchi in Meat Sauce

Cheesy Baked Gnocchi in Meat Sauce – This oven baked gnocchi dish is kind of like a lasagna but with gnocchi instead. It’s absolutely delicious and a super easy dinner to make! Layered with gnocchi, ground beef, broccoli, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese and baked to a golden perfection!

Baked Cheesy Gnocchi in Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. gnocchi
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup broccoli, steamed and chopped
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil or 1 tbsp fresh chopped
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano or 1 tbsp fresh chopped
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley or 1 tbsp fresh chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add ground beef, onions and season with salt. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until beef is browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Drain off excess grease.
  3. Add tomato sauce, broccoli and remaining seasonings and cook over low for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. While sauce is on low, cook gnocchi according to the package instructions.
  5. In a 9×13 baking dish, add 1/3 of the sauce on the bottom. Toss the gnocchi on top of the sauce and then pour the remaining sauce on top. Sprinkle the top with the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until cheese is melted and slightly golden.

    OMGOODNESS!!!!! This was delicious 😊
    I had to leave out the broccoli but everything else stayed the same. I used fresh spices because they are more flavorful. This was a win with my family.

    Hi, I’m making this for dinner tonight but going to start preparing early. Is this ok to do?
    Also, if I leave out the broccoli, will it change the consistency (for lack of a better word) enough to cook at a shorter time?
