My easy Stovetop Sweet Potatoes and the perfect healthy side dish recipe. We love to serve these potatoes for dinner and breakfast. The best part? This recipe comes together in just 20 minutes.
Top sweet potatoes with a fried egg, serve wrapped in a tortilla for a delicious breakfast burrito, with your favorite breakfast meats and more.
For dinner, serve the potatoes with grilled chicken, turkey burgers, meatloaf and so much more! I will link a few of my favorite main courses to serve with sweet potatoes.
This recipe will serve about four people. If you are cooking for a larger crowd, simply double the recipe.
Ingredients To Make Stovetop Sweet Potatoes:
Sweet Potatoes - You will need 3-4 large sweet potatoes for this recipe.
Avocado Oil - Used to fry the potatoes on the skillet. You can also use olive oil in this recipe.
Butter - Salted or unsalted butter both work great.
Seasoning Blend - Salt, Black Pepper, Garlic Powder, Dried Basil, Dried Parsley, Paprika.

How To Cook Sweet Potatoes On The Stove:
In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil and butter.
Once the butter begins to lightly simmer, add diced sweet potatoes. Toss to coat. Sprinkle potatoes evenly with seasonings and cover.
Cook potatoes covered, stirring every few minutes.
Once the potatoes are fork tender, turn heat up a little and remove lid. Sear a few minutes to lightly brown.
Serve with your favorite main courses. Enjoy!

You don't have to peel sweet potatoes prior to cooking, but in this recipe I suggest it. The peel can be chewy and unpalatable.
This recipe will take about 15-20 minutes for the potatoes to fully cook.
