White Chicken Lasagna Rolls – Super delicious lasagna roll recipe made with shredded chicken, three cheeses and spinach in a creamy parmesan sauce.
Lasagna Rolls are the perfect easy family friendly dinner recipe! This recipe makes 12 lasagna rolls which should feed about 6 people and makes amazing leftovers!
From start to finish this dish will take you about an hour and a half to make. It does take a little bit of effort to make but for the most part it’s pretty easy!
Ingredients you need to make White Lasagna Rolls:
Lasagna Sheets – You’ll need twelve sheets of lasagna. I used Barilla but you can use your favorite brand. You don’t want the “oven ready” kind.
Chicken – About two cups of shredded chicken will be used in this recipe. You can use shredded rotisserie chicken or easily make your own. You can also use my Shredded Chicken Recipe.
Ricotta Cheese – One 15oz container of ricotta cheese.
Mozzarella Cheese – Two cups shredded mozzarella cheese. This will be used in ricotta mixture and on top of the lasagna.
Parmesan Cheese – Freshly grated is best but you can use what you have on hand.
Spinach – Two cups fresh chopped spinach.
Garlic Cloves – Fresh garlic is best.
Chicken Broth – You can also use vegetable broth or bone broth as a substitution.
Milk – Whole milk is best in this recipe.
Egg – For the ricotta mixture.
Basil – You can use dried or fresh basil.
Parsley – You can use dried of fresh parsley.
Butter – Salted or unsalted butter both work great.
Flour – Regular all-purpose flour.
Tools to have on hand:
baking dish 9″x13″ – To bake the lasagna rolls in.
saucepan – To cook your sauce in.
cooking spoon – For stirring the sauce while it cooks.
cheese grater – Grated cheese if you are grating off a block.
cutting board – Prepping veggies.
measuring cups + spoons – Properly measure all of your ingredients.
mixing bowl – Mixing ricotta mixture.
fork – Mixing ricotta mixture.
How to make my easy White Chicken Lasagna Rolls:
Boil lasagna sheets according to package instructions for al dente. Drain and separate lasagna sheets. Set aside for later.
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, add butter and garlic. Cook for about a minute or two until garlic is fragrant.
Stir in flour. Slowly add chicken broth and milk while whisking frequently.
Stir in parmesan cheese, basil, parsley, salt and pepper. Cook sauce over a low simmer, stirring occasionally, until lightly thickens. When done, remove from heat.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped spinach and a 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese.
Pour a 1/2 cup of the sauce into the bottom of your 9×13 baking dish. Spread evenly to cover bottom of the dish.
Make the lasagna roll ups by laying out each sheet of lasagna and spreading about 2 tablespoons of the ricotta mixture onto each sheet.
Sprinkle shredded chicken on top of ricotta mixture. Top the shredded chicken with about 2 tablespoons of the sauce. Roll lasagna up and place in dish. Repeat with 12 rolls.
Pour remaining sauce on top of the rolls and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
Cover dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Carefully remove foil and let cook another 5 minutes.
Remove Lasagna Roll Ups from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
