
Meatball Sub Sandwiches made with flavorful homemade meatballs with mozzarella and parmesan cheeses on top of a french roll. Meatball sandwiches are one of my favorite cheat day eats! The meatballs are super simple to make and are first baked in the oven. Then, we will add tomato sauce to the meatballs, toast up the french rolls, add cheese and voila! These meatball subs will be sure to impress you and your guests! Enjoy everyone.

Meatball Sub Sandwiches
Makes: 4 subs
Ingredients:
- 4 french rolls
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 – 15oz. can tomato sauce
For the meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp worcestershire
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl combine all the ingredients for the meatballs. Mix until fully combined.
- Form twelve equal sized meatballs and place in a 13″x9″ baking dish.
- Place in the oven and cook for 15 minutes. Flip the meatballs over and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
- Add the tomato sauce to dish with the meatballs. Gently toss to combine. Place back in the oven for 5 more minutes.
- Place french rolls on a baking sheet and sprinkle with mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Place them in the oven along with the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes until toasted and cheese is melted.
- Remove meatballs and toasted rolls from the oven and assemble sandwiches placing about 3 meatballs on each sub along with some sauce from the dish.
