Grilled Honey Buffalo Chicken Thighs – Amazing BBQ chicken thighs grilled low and slow to perfection and finished with a finger-licking good honey buffalo sauce. You are going to absolutely love this juicy grilled sweet and spicy chicken!
Get ready to crank on your grill and make some of my absolute favorite grilled chicken! What makes this chicken so delicious is the flavors you get from the grill with the combination of the sweet honey and spicy buffalo sauce.
We served our buffalo chicken thighs with a fresh side salad, grilled zucchini and a baked potato. You can serve yours with so many different types of grilling side dishes. I will link a few of my favorites for you below!
This recipe serves about 4 people giving each person 1 chicken thigh. If you are cooking for a larger crowd, you can easily double this recipe. And if you are cooking for a smaller crowd, you can also cut this recipe in half.
Ingredients to you need to make Honey Buffalo Chicken Thighs:
Chicken Thighs – Boneless, skinless chicken thighs are best in this recipe but you can also use chicken breasts as well.
Buffalo Sauce – I highly recommend Franks Red Hot in this recipe, but you can use your favorite buffalo sauce!
Honey – Whatever honey you have on hand! I used local raw honey.
Garlic Cloves – Fresh minced garlic is best. If you don’t have fresh, substitute for 1 tsp garlic powder.
Green Onions – Fresh chopped green onions make for a delicious garnish.
Black Pepper – Fresh cracked black pepper or ground black pepper.
Salt – I almost always use sea salt in my recipes, but you can use your favorite.
Parsley – I used dried parsley in this recipe, but you can use fresh chopped parsley as well.
Tools to have on hand:
- Grill – To cook your chicken thighs on.
- Measuring Cups + Spoons – For properly measure all of your ingredients.
- Tongs – Flipping the chicken while they grill.
- Basting Brush – Basting the chicken with honey buffalo sauce.
How to make the BEST Grilled Honey Buffalo Chicken Thighs:
In a small bowl, whisk together buffalo sauce, honey and minced garlic.
Season chicken thighs with salt, pepper and parsley on all sides. Add 2 tablespoons of the honey buffalo sauce and toss thighs to fully coat.
Heat your grill to medium-low heat. Once the grill is nice and hot, place the chicken thighs on smooth side down. The key to juicy and tender chicken is to grill them low and slow.
Turn the chicken thighs over every 3-4 minutes. Continue this process until chicken juices run clear and the internal temperature is between 165-170 degrees. Baste the chicken thighs with the honey buffalo sauce during the last few turns.
Serve Honey Buffalo Chicken with a sprinkle of fresh chopped green onions and your favorite grilling side dishes!
