Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken – My super easy slow cooker (crockpot) bbq pulled chicken recipe is made with a delicious homemade sweet and slightly spicy barbecue sauce.
Serve slow cooker barbecue chicken on toasty buns for a delicious sandwich, on salads, flatbreads and more!
Ingredients you need for this recipe:
- Chicken Thighs or Breasts – boneless, skinless
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Paprika
- Sriracha – or your favorite hot sauce.
- Chili Powder
- Mustard
- Ketchup
- Onion- yellow or white
- Garlic
- Water
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Butter

How to make slow cooker bbq chicken:
In a small saucepan, add finely chopped onion and butter. Cook over medium heat until onions are tender. Add minced garlic and cook another minute. Add remaining ingredients to the saucepan, except for the chicken, and bring to a low simmer. Simmer until sauce lightly thickens. Remove from heat.
Add chicken thighs/breasts to your slow cooker and pour barbecue sauce over the chicken (about 1 cup). Cook on low for 7-8 hours or on the high setting for 3-4 hours.
When finished, using two forks, lightly shred chicken. Enjoy!
Can I use bottled BBQ Sauce instead of making this barbecue sauce from scratch?
Yes! If you are on a time crunch or are not feeling up to making the sauce from scratch, please feel free to use your favorite bottled barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

- 1/2 cup ketchup

- 2 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
Instructions
