Honey Dijon Pork Roast - Tender and delicious oven roasted pork finished with a mouthwatering simple honey dijon sauce. This recipe makes for an easy dinner perfect for the whole family!

A super easy pork roast recipe using boneless pork shoulder or pork butt. Seasoned in a mouthwatering brown sugar mustard seasoning and served with a honey dijon sauce.
We served our Honey Dijon Pork Roast with creamy mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I'll link a few of my favorite side dishes to pair with this pork for you below!
Ingredients you need to made Pork Roast with Honey Dijon Sauce:
Pork Roast - You'll need about a 2 lb pork shoulder or pork butt for this recipe. I recommend using a boneless cut. If you decide to use bone-in pork, it will take a bit longer to cook - about 30 minutes or so.
Dijon Mustard - You can use dijon, yellow or any other grainy mustard you'd like! I used regular Grey Poupon djion mustard, but you can use your favorite brand! You'll need this for the marinade and to make the sauce.
Brown Sugar or Honey - Light or dark brown sugar both work great in this recipe. You can also use honey instead of brown sugar for the pork roast rub.
Black Pepper - Fresh cracked or ground black pepper both with fine.
Salt - Any table salt you prefer.
Paprika - You can use smoked or regular paprika in this recipe.
Garlic - I recommend using fresh garlic to marinade the pork in but you can also substitute 1 teaspoon garlic powder.
Olive Oil - Extra virgin olive oil or you can use avocado oil. You'll use this for the sauce and to sear the pork prior to roasting.
Butter - Salted or unsalted butter. You'll need this for searing the pork.
Broth - Chicken, beef, vegetable or bone broth.
Mayonnaise - Any mayonnaise you prefer. You can also substitute for plain Greek yogurt.
Honey - A decent quality unflavored honey is best.
Apple Cider Vinegar - Adds a nice acidity to the sauce. You can substitute for rice vinegar, red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar or white vinegar.
Tools to have on hand or this recipe:
Dutch Oven – To cook the pork roast in. Or any oven safe heavy bottom pan.
Cast Iron Skillet – To sear the pork roast on. You can also use the dutch oven you are baking the pork in but I like the crust a cart iron skillet gives.
Measuring Cups + Spoons – For properly measuring all of your ingredients.
Tongs – For turning pork while searing.
How to make Honey Dijon Pork Roast:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
In a small bowl mix dijon mustard, garlic, brown sugar, salt, black pepper, and paprika.
Pat dry pork butt/shoulder with paper towel. Rub pork all over with mustard seasoning mixture.
Heat a skillet over high heat. Add butter and oil. Once hot, carefully add the pork to the skillet and sear for about 30 seconds on each side.
Transfer pork to an oven safe dish. Pour apple cider vinegar and broth around the pork. Cover dish with foil.
Bake for about 2 ½ - 3 hours until pork is fork tender. Internal temperature should be at least 145 degrees. When done, remove from oven and let rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients to make the honey dijon sauce.
Slice pork into ¼"- ½" slices and serve with a drizzle of the honey dijon sauce. Enjoy!
