This is the perfect easy dinner recipe for those hectic weekdays when you don't have much time to cook. Not only is my Balsamic Chicken recipe easy, but it is absolutely delicious! You and your family are going to love this recipe.

This recipe serves four people giving each person one balsamic chicken breast. If you are cooking for a crowd, you can double this recipe. Also, if you are just cooking for two people, you can cut this recipe in half.

We served our chicken with a fresh spinach salad with tomatoes and it was a perfect healthy meal. I have also served it with mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, glazed carrots and so much more. I will link some of my favorite side dishes to pair with this recipe for you below.

Store leftover chicken completely cooled in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Leftovers are great for sandwiches, on top of a fresh salad, in a lettuce wrap and so much more! I am so excited to share this super easy recipe with you.

Tools to have on hand for this recipe:

    • Slow Cooker / Crockpot – For cooking the soup in.
    • Measuring Spoons + Cups – To properly measure all of your ingredients.
    • Small Bowl + Spoon/Whisk - To mix the sauce with.

Ingredients you need to make Balsamic Chicken in your crockpot/slow cooker:

Chicken Breasts - Four large boneless, skinless chicken breasts. You can also use boneless skinless chicken thighs.

Balsamic Vinegar - A good quality balsamic vinegar is best in this recipe. You'll need ⅓ cup.

Brown Sugar - Light or dark brown sugar both work great in this recipe.

Garlic - Fresh garlic cloves are best in this recipe. I don't recommend garlic powder but if that's all you have, use 2 teaspoons.

Water - About ¼ cup water to keep the chicken tender and not dry out while cooking.

How to make the most delicious Slow Cooker Balsamic Chicken:

In a small bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic and water.

Pour about a quarter of the sauce to the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the chicken breasts and pour remaining balsamic sauce over the chicken.

Cover with lid and cook on low heat for 7 hours or on high heat for about 3 ½ hours.

Spoon balsamic juices from the crockpot on top of your chicken when serving. Enjoy!

**Store leftovers completely cooled in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.

I had tried this recipe and shredded the chicken and added as a protein to a tossed salad.

This was so so yummy, I served it over rice and the next day cold in a spinach salad with feta and some balsamic vinaigrette. Hits the spot!

DELICIOUS! I made it for dinner tonight & everyone enjoyed it so much! I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs; that’s what I had. I also lightly browned them first & deglazed pan with a little wine & added it to balsamic mixture. I will definitely make it again! Thank you

I've made this Slow Cooker Balsamic Chicken for dinner every other week since I first tried it. My boys request this chicken dinner, over and over. They are picky eaters and not overly fond of chicken but absolutely LOVE Balsamic Chicken. It is a quick and easy meal to make and there are never any leftovers. The chicken is very flavorful and extremely tender. Thank you for such a great recipe to add to my files. My family and I are grateful.

Can you use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar?

Can the chicken be frozen or does it need to be thawed?
